6 July  2007 Campaign Against Charging Disabled Bays at Hospital Grows North East Herts MP Oliver Heald has been campaigning against the proposed charging for disabled bays in hospital car parks. He has now received support from Executive Member Adult Care and Health at Hertfordshire County Council, County Councillor Sally Newton. Cllr Newton has written to Oliver, describing this as a “retrograde step” and explaining that she has received approaches from local disability groups “aghast”. Commenting, Oliver Heald said, “I am aghast at the proposals, as are local disability groups. It is good the have the support of the Executive Member for Adult Health at Hertfordshire County Council. Now we need to know the reply from the Hospital.”
