MP Fears for Future of Hertfordshire
The Government today announced a Revision to the East of England Regional Spatial Strategy.
Despite strong concerns voiced by Oliver Heald MP and others in response to the Draft Strategy, the Government is requiring over 500,000 new dwellings in the East of England by 2021.
Commenting, Oliver Heald said, “We will all want to take in the detail. But the big picture for Hertfordshire is a massive increase in development putting our local environment at risk. This goes way beyond what local need requires.
“The water and other infrastructure is not being provided for either. If this goes ahead we should fear the future for our County.”
