North East Herts MP Oliver Heald was delighted to welcome to Westminster two members of Royston Stroke Club who were being honoured as part of Volunteers’ Week.
Walter Thomas and Norman Tinkley were awarded certificates as “Heroes” at a ceremony at the House of Commons. They were also treated to tea in the Members’ Dining Room and had an opportunity to talk with Oliver Heald and other Members of Parliament. The photographs show Oliver with each Hero as he presented the certificate to them at the event.

Commenting, Oliver Heald said, “I was delighted to be able to present these awards to Norman and Walter. I have visited the Stroke Club in Royston on a number of occasions and it is marvellous what it achieves for its service users.
“The Group always have lively debates and have raised a number of issues with me about disabled facilities in the town. I congratulate Norman and Walter on receiving these prestigious awards and it was good to be able to meet them at the House of Commons.
