16 July 2007 MP Visits Local Pub in “Proud of Pubs” Week On Friday 13 July, North East Herts MP Oliver Heald visited The Moon and Stars at Mill End, Rushden, as part of “Proud of Pubs” Week. This week is organised by The Publican magazine and gives licensees the opportunity to show their local MP the work they do in their communities. On this particular evening, the pub was hosting a Village Hog Roast to raise money for the Village Hall.  Speaking afterwards, Oliver Heald said, “This is an excellent example of the important role that the village pub can play in the life of a community. It has been a marvellous evening and has raised much needed funds for the Village Hall.”
