16 July 2007 MP Congratulates Letchworth Girls’ Rugby Team North East Herts MP Oliver Heald joined Stuart Kenny, Director General of Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation, and District Councillor Ian Knighton, at the presentation to Letchworth Rugby Club Girls’ Section of the Rugby Football Union’s President’s Award for Club Modernisation.  The Award was presented to the Girls’ Captain by a Member of the Rugby Football Union Committee, to congratulate the girls on setting up a “blog” to improve communication amongst members and raise their profile. Apparently, the girls have been contacted by the German National Rugby Association, informing them that the “blog” is now being copied in Germany and it has received “hits” from other parts of the world.  Speaking after the event, Oliver said, “The Girls’ Team has had a very successful season, with players securing England trials.
