MP Raises School’s Concerns on Climate Change and Development in Parliament

Following a meeting with students at Fearnhill School in Letchworth Garden City, North East Herts MP Oliver Heald has challenged the Government to explain their policy on climate change and development by tabling a number of Parliamentary Questions.

The students had grave concerns about how climate change may have disastrous consequences in Africa and other developing countries.

Commenting, Oliver Heald said, “The Fearnhill students were very persuasive about the issues of climate change and water supplies in Africa.

“I have long campaigned on environmental issues and David Cameron has highlighted the importance of climate change but the students’ fears for what may happen to developing countries have led me, as their local MP, to put down Questions in the House.

“If the Government’s answers are not strong enough then I shall be campaigning in Parliament for things to be improved.”
