MP – Don’t lose your “say” on Traveller sites and hospitals
Deadline for local consultations
The East of England Regional Assembly consultation on sites for Gypsies and Travellers closes soon and responses must be received by 31 July.
The consultation gives local people the opportunity to comment on the EERA’s plans to increase traveller accommodation throughout Hertfordshire.
The consultation document is available on the EERA website - www.eera.gov.uk
The NHS consultation, which includes questions on where to locate acute services in Hertfordshire, closes on 1 October.
The consultation document is available on PCT website - www.enherts-pct.nhs.uk/consultation/Index.asp
Oliver Heald, MP for North East Herts, said:
‘Don’t lose your say on these important issues.
‘I have responded to the EERA consultation and made clear that I believe there is little point in building sites where they are not wanted by locals or travellers.
‘It is appalling that the Government killed off plans for a new hospital, despite their promises to the people of Hertfordshire at the last election. The consultation involves deciding between the Lister and QEII for which will provide acute services in the future.
‘It is important for local people to take this opportunity to make their views heard. If they do not respond then their views cannot be taken into account.
