MP Appointed to Select Committee on Work and Pensions
North East Herts MP Oliver Heald has been appointed to serve on the House of Commons Select Committee on Work and Pensions. Oliver was chosen for this role because of his experience as a former Minister at the Department for Social Security and a former Shadow Minister for Work and Pensions in the Shadow Cabinet.
Oliver is a long-standing supporter of the Save the Children Fund and other children’s charities, a specialist in Employment Law and the author of Auditing the New Deal: What Figures for the Future (Politeia 2004).
Commenting, Oliver Heald said, “I have a long standing interest in employment issues and pensions. I look forward to serving on this important Committee, particularly at a time when it is inquiring into the vital issue of child poverty.”
