Local MP Volunteers for Barnardo’s

On Saturday, local MP Oliver Heald volunteered to help at Barnardo’s Charity Shop in Angel Pavement in Royston.

There he was able to help with serving customers, washing up, opening donations of clothes and other items and generally assisting. Oliver was doing this as part of “Volunteers’ Week” and also “Make a Difference Day”.

Commenting afterwards, Oliver Heald said, “It was good to meet the team at Barnardo’s, many of whom have been working for years to help the Charity. This shop makes a vital difference to the work of Barnardo’s in helping children and is a fine example of what volunteering can achieve. I would encourage anyone who is interested to volunteer to help a charity in Royston. Details are available at Royston Library.”
